Add titles, descriptions, and tags to help others find your work
Once you have a social media (SM) account, it’s time to start sharing your images! Add a title, description, and tags when you upload a new image. It will help people searching for specific types of photography find your work.
For example, let’s say you’ve just posted a photo of a beautiful sunset. In the title, you might include the word “sunset” and the location where the photo was taken. You could briefly explain what makes the sunset so unique in the description. And in the tags, you might include words like “nature,” “sky,” and “sunlight.”
Interact with other photographers on the site
In addition to sharing your photographs, be sure to interact with other photographers on the site. Comment on their shots, join groups and forums and participate in discussions. The more active you are, the more likely people will notice your work.
Remember to add value to the conversation when commenting on other photographers’ images. If you say, “nice photo,” your comment will likely be ignored. Instead, try to point out something specific that you liked about the photo or ask a question about the process. For example, you might say, “I love how you captured the light in this photo. How did you achieve that effect?”
Joining groups and forums is a great way to interact with like-minded photographers and learn from each other. Participating in discussions is also excellent for building a reputation as a field expert.
